An encounter for space, Part 1 and 2
May 2021
Performance
Part 1

"I wanted to see
I wanted to hear
I sat waiting

Dreaming, dreaming, dreaming…
What the deepness brings, what the darkness brings
At the bottom of the valley, the shallow river, just flowing
The rocks and pebbles that form the floor

Letters in strips, fragments,
Debris of forgotten things

For what we are
For the pain we harbor
For the violence we harbor

Against the silence of stone
Through the ice-cold water

There is still a way to go
As narrow as it is, the water flows from somewhere"

"Where does the voice come from?"

Part 2

Bowl 1: "They had arrived at a wide river. The wind was blowing hard. Everything was flowing in one strong direction. The herd of creatures, that had been traveling, stopped to watch. They wanted to cross the river. They thought, what could be done."

Bowl 2: "In that place where daylight does not quite reach, the creatures lived. In this place, the creatures have stayed for thousands of years. Once they settled, they did not quite leave. Perhaps variations were elsewhere on Earth, but it has not been recorded. As far as it was known, the place was perfect for the creatures and nothing else."

"Picking bones, out of the quietness of a pond of still water. Only when the wind has left
for the higher sky.

They’re all underneath.

When things succumb at the edge, things are half-flattened and,
I remember asking, what dances here"
